Oh West Side Story! What a rich part of our culture! I honestly think that every person has to have seen this film (or play) at least once. I didn’t say you have to love it. I would be a little concerned if you did. Not a lot, just a little.
As number 51, I would have to say this movie is on the list for being influential, since off the top of my head it’s been recently referenced by at least ten TV shows. (The Office, Family Guy, 30 Rock)
Besides the constant snapping and Natalie Wood’s fake accent, I like that they based the plot on Romeo and Juliet but chose to take certain liberties. Quentin Tarantino style.
