BRET: Todd’s not cool.
MURRAY: What do you mean? He’s cooler than both of you put together. Look at him over there with all his friends. He’s like the Pied Piper of cool. Pied Piper was cool wasn’t he?
BRET: Pied Piper wasn’t cool, he took all those kids into a cave.
MURRAY: No, I mean before that phase; when it was just the rats.

I found this image circa 1920 at the New York Public Library Digital Gallery and it was love at first sight. This is all thanks to a new watercolor book I found at Powell’s on Saturday. God bless Portland for new-found inspiration.

Source: letterheadyA delightfully humorous letterhead, apparently used by Harpo Marx in the 1930s. It’s difficult to state just how much I love this.

#50 Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring.
Well, I watched it for the second time last night and I have to say, it was better! My first attempt was a disaster, since my freshman roommate thought a great introduction to the Lord of the Rings was the extended versions of all three movies. Let’s just say I wasn’t into them.
So my thoughts are one, it’s still too long. I guess I wouldn’t say too long, but awkward. I kept thinking wow, that’s a good ending… why isn’t it over? The story-line probably makes better sense in the books.
The story was much more interesting this time. I think I just might watch the other two over again, just to see if they get better than my memory serves.
We shall see.
I decided to celebrate making it halfway on the list by making a blog only for the wallpapers I make for the movies. I also revamped some ones that I didn’t spend enough time on, so feel free to check it out!

I came across some really awesome illustrations that I had saved about seven years ago from an artist named Denise Lee. I’ve googled and binged, but cannot find her! Anyway, I thought her stuff was way too good to be just sitting in a folder on my desktop. So I re-made them into wallpapers! I am in no way claiming ownership of these artistically or otherwise, I just want to share her genius :)
